In a blog post on Sunday, Crypto.com said it would reduce rewards on the usage of its Visa-enabled cards based on the tiers offered. Lower tiers – such as Midnight Blue and Ruby Steel – would get 0%, Royal Indigo and Jade Green would get 0.5%, Icy White and Frosted Rose Gold would get 1%, while Obsidian, the highest tier, would get just 2%. I initially thought the Midnight Blue Crypto.com Visa debit card would give me a chance to test run a crypto card for free.But when I read the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) I see that it is not free- $10 fee to close the Midnight Blue card account, $70 for other cards- $5 per month fee after 12 months inactivitySo it will cost to exit the card - therefore not free to test run it.Also the Top-Up Fee to the Debit card of 1% puts me off (in the Help article).These fees are what stopped me in my tracks in progressing my application.Als Cronos (CRO) Crashes 15% Daily as CryptoCom Cuts Card Rewards According to the company's blog post, the changes are being implemented "to ensure long-term sustainability." Private Members holding an Icy White, Frosted Rose Gold, or Obsidian card will continue to enjoy their existing merchant rebate benefits.
